Tournament Information
HOUSING: Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge (9000 Bay Hill Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32819) will serve as the host hotel and has given the AJGA a special rate of $99 per night per room. Reservations can be made by calling 888.422.9445 and be sure to identify yourself as an AJGA participant. You must call by July 2 to receive the special AJGA rate. Private housing is available on a limited first-come, first-served basis. To request private housing, please contact Todd Corum at 877.373.2542 or tcorum@ajga.org. SPECIAL CONDITION: It is a condition of the competition that shoes with metal or traditionally designed spikes are prohibited as determined by Bay Hill Club & Lodge. Penalty for breach of this rule is two strokes per hole, maximum of four strokes per round. Once the breach is discovered, acceptable shoes are to be worn. Please see to it that you have spikeless shoes or non-metal spikes before coming to the HP Boys Junior Championship. AIRPORT/GROUND TRANSPORTATION: Players should make reservations into the Orlando International Airport (MCO), which is approximately 30 minutes from Bay Hill Club & Lodge. United Airlines gives AJGA members and their families discounts when flying to AJGA events. When booking your flight with United Airlines, please use the AJGA reference number 560FB and call 800.521.4041 for the AJGA discounted rate. Avis also offers discounts to AJGA members and their families when renting cars at tournament sites. Please use the AJGA discount number A658299 and call Avis at 800.331.1600 or visit the Web site at avis.com. Mears Transportation Company provides a shuttle from the airport that can be arranged by calling 407.839.1570. Fees for this service vary by the number of people traveling. TRAVEL / ACCOMODATIONS STIPEND: The tournament will reimburse up to $250 per player for costs associated with travel (airfare / rental car / gas / mileage) and lodging. To receive the reimbursement, fill out the form located on the tournament Web page at http://www.ajga.org/TournInfo/2004/default.asp?TN=T51. You may also bring receipts to the tournament or submit to the AJGA by Friday, September 10, 2004. PRACTICE ROUND: The tournament practice round will be a 1 p.m. shotgun start on Monday, July 26 at Bay Hill Club & Lodge. No prior arrangements are necessary. Players may sign up for starting hole assignments with an AJGA staff member at the driving range from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. on Monday, July 26. REGISTRATION/PLAYERS MEETING: Player Registration will be held Monday, July 26 at 7 p.m. at Bay Hill Club & Lodge in the Palmer Room. Players unable to register at this time MUST notify Tournament Director Todd Corum prior to July 22 at 877.373.2542 ext. (714). The Players Meeting will immediately follow at 7:30 p.m. Both events are MANDATORY. A Parents Reception will be held by the AJGA staff in conjunction with the Players Meeting. TOURNAMENT TEE TIMES: Tee times are as follows: First & Second Rounds, 7– 8:57 a.m. off Nos. 1 & 10 tees. Third & Final Rounds, 7 – 8:30 a.m. off Nos. 1 & 10 tees. A tie for the championship will be decided by a sudden-death playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. As inclement weather may delay play, please make your departing flight as late as possible and keep in mind that Orlando International Airport is 30 minutes from Bay Hill Club & Lodge. FOOD FUNCTIONS: Breakfast & lunch will be provided for all tournament participants Tuesday – Friday at Bay Hill Club & Lodge. A tournament cookout will also be provided at no charge for participants and family members on Tuesday, July 27 at 5:30 p.m. CODE OF CONDUCT: All AJGA participants are expected to abide by the AJGA Code of Conduct. Violations of the Code of Conduct will be dealt with based on the severity of the misconduct. OTHER INFORMATION: Caddies are not permitted in AJGA tournament play. Proper attire is required at all times and failure to comply may result in disqualification (see Dress Code Section of Code of Conduct). Golf carts, spectator carts and pull carts are not allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS! Also, no headphones may be worn in AJGA competition. NO SHOW POLICY: Because the AJGA continues to receive far more applications than it has spots available for in its events, the AJGA is adopting the following policy:
