• PLANNING & POLICIES

PLAYER TRAVEL INFORMATION & SIZE PREFERENCES: In an effort to ensure airport transportation and correct sizes of your tournament gifts, please take a few moments to complete the travel information online.

STILLWATER TEMPERATURES: The average daily temperatures are 78° high 52° low.

SOFTSPIKES:  It is a condition of the competition that shoes with metal or traditionally-designed spikes are prohibited as determined by Karsten Creek Golf Club.  Penalty for breach of this rule is two strokes per hole, maximum of four strokes per round.  Once the breach is discovered, acceptable shoes are to be worn.  Please see to it that you have spikeless shoes or softspikes before coming to the The PING Invitational.

Code of Conduct:  All AJGA participants are expected to abide by the AJGA Code of Conduct.  There is no tolerance for any behavior which would cause embarrassment to PING, Karsten Creek, or the AJGA.  There will be 25-30 college coaches present. Do not risk a great opportunity to impress.  Violations of the Code of Conduct will be dealt with based on the severity of the misconduct.

Other Information:  Caddies are not permitted in AJGA tournament play.  Proper attire is required at all times and failure to comply may result in disqualification (See Dress Code Section of Code of Conduct).  Golf carts, spectator carts and pull carts are not allowed.  NO EXCEPTIONS!  Also, no headphones may be worn in AJGA competition.

NO SHOW POLICY:  As an invitational with personalized gifts and recognition, we have adopted the following policy:

If you find that you cannot compete in the The PING Invitational, you must withdraw from the event by contacting the AJGA at (877) 373-2542 or (405) 743-4830 or 4831 (tournament headquarters from Oct. 2-10) prior to tournament registration.  If you cannot compete and do not withdraw properly, you are considered a “no show,” and the following action will be taken:

1.  If you have already earned entry into another event, you will be notified of your disqualification from the event.

2.  If you have not earned entry into another event at this time, your next application will not be considered.

3.  If this offense is repeated, you will not be allowed to play in any more events for the remainder of the year.

• TRANSPORTATION

AIRPORT:  Players should book airline reservations into Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) or Tulsa International Airport (TUL). Each is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes from Karsten Creek Golf Club or the Holiday Inn Stillwater.  Monday’s final round is an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

Thanks to the generous support of PING and SemGroup, players will receive a $300 USD Travel Stipend.  Please complete the Travel Stipend formand send with a copy of your airline itineraryvia fax (770) 868-4211, or e-mail  pripa@ajga.org for reimbursement.  Reimbursement checks will be sent out following the championship. 

GROUND TRANSPORTATION:The PING Invitational will have a committee member in a tournament shirt at the Baggage Claim at both the Will Rogers World Airport and Tulsa International Airport.  They are there to direct you to transportation and provide any additional information for you. 

Complimentary transportation is provided by the host committee to and from the Will Rogers World Airport and Tulsa International Airport.  Please be sure to complete your travel information online. The Holiday Inn Stillwater is 10 minutes to Karsten Creek.   Avis offers discounts to AJGA members and their families when renting cars at tournament sites. • ACCOMMODATIONS

PLAYER ACCOMMODATIONS:  Accommodations will be provided by the Holiday Inn Stillwater at $70 plus tax.  Please call (405) 372-0800 for reservations and identify yourself with AJGA.  The cut-off date for our room block is September 21.   

PRIVATE HOUSING: On a limited basis there will also be private housing available.  Please contact Joe Haney at (405) 744-8617 regarding private housing.

• AT KARSTEN CREEK GOLF CLUB

REGISTRATION: Player registration will be at the Karsten Creek Golf Club Friday, October 6th from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Please plan on registering before your practice round.

Practice Round: The official practice round will be 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday, October 6th.  To reserve a starting time for Friday, October 6th, please call (405) 743-1658.   If there are friends you wish to play with, please be sure to coordinate your pairing prior to calling. Otherwise you will be paired randomly with other players in the championship.  Additional practice rounds may be available on a limited-basis Monday – Thursday.  Please call the phone number above to reserve a starting time.     

PRACTICE FACILITY: The practice facility and putting green will be open to participants from 7:15 a.m. – 6 p.m.  (Sunrise is 7:30 a.m. and Sunset is 7:10 p.m.)

TOURNAMENT TEE TIMES:  On Saturday and Sunday starting times will be from 8 – 9:57 a.m. off the Nos. 1 and 10 tees.  Monday’s final round will be an 8 a.m. shotgun start.  Players will be repaired based on score following each round.  A tie for the championship will be decided by a sudden-death playoff immediately following the final round.  Each airport is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Karsten Creek Golf Club.

• SOCIAL ACTIVITIES: 

• The Indoor Practice Facility at the Practice Tee will be the Players Hospitality throughout the week complete with Xboxes, ping pong, beverages and snacks. 
• Players are expected to wear appropriate attire whenever on Karsten Creek Golf Club property. 
• Thanks to the generous support of our friends from PING and SemGroup all meals, except the Players Party, are complimentary to players and parents.
