The Polo Golf Junior Classic, which has been conducted annually since 1978, marks the first tournament of the AJGA’s 2007 season. Former champions include Stewart Cink (1989), Trevor Immelman (1995), Tiger Woods (1991), Paula Creamer (2002), Grace Park (1994, 1996) and Morgan Pressel (2004).

“I got anxious toward the end,” said Hoffmann. “I knew going into the week that I was playing well, so it’s exciting to go into the afternoon and play Andrew.”

Fowler defeated Francis 1-up in order to advance to the next round. Fowler will face off against the 2005 Rolex Junior Player of the Year Peter Uihlein of Bradenton, Fla. Peter won his morning match against Sam Chien of San Diego, Calif., 4 & 2.
