Cameron Peck of Olympia, Wash., (above) went out in the seventh group of the morning and set the bar for the rest of the field during Tuesday's first round, firing a course-record, 4-under-par 66 at Sedgefield Country Club.

About a half-hour later, Chan Kim (below) of Chandler, Ariz., matched Peck's 66 to share the one-stroke lead. The previous course record of 67 was shot by AJGA alum Dustin Bray.

Peck played holes 4-6 with a birdie-eagle-birdie to jump start his round and spend most of the day atop the leaderboard. After a bogey at 12, Peck came back with a birdie at 14 when he holed out from a greenside bunker. With pars all the way home, Peck topped Tommy Chung Hao Mou, who was one group ahead of Peck and had just closed out his round at 3-under-par 67.

Peck was not alone at the top for long, however, as he was joined by Chan Kim, who fired four birdies and an eagle in his round. Kim made a late charge when he eagled the par-5 15th, then birdied the par-3 16th.

The group of the day teed off at 8:39 a.m., as Jack Schultz of Whitefish Bay, Wis., and Rak Cho of Brea, Calif., took different routes toward the same destination: 3-under-par 67. Schultz arrived at the 15th hole at even-par, but that changed instantly when he fired the shot of the day. After a 335-yard drive, Schultz pulled a 6-iron and holed out for a double eagle. (Read all about it at FJ Live Scoring's Tournament Blog.) Just like that, Schultz improved to 3-under-par, where he finished the day.

Cho equalled the 67 with a steady stream of five birdies scattered around two bogeys. Daily Results...
