Rolex Junior All-America Awards Banquet Honors the Best of 2008

The 2008 Rolex Junior All-America First Team

The "Greatest Night in Junior Golf" took place Sunday, November 23 in The Grande Ballroom at Ginn Reunion Resort. The Rolex Junior All-America Awards Banquet is the night where the best of the best in junior golf gather to be honored for their hard work throughout the year.

On this night, the Rolex Junior All-America Teams were honored. Ninety-six of junior golf's top players walked across the stage to receive their award.

Additionally, the Rolex Junior Players of the Year recieved the most prestigious award in junior golf.

Also that evening, 24 HP Scholastic Junior All-Americans were honored for their achievements both on and off the golf course. Each of these students are some of the top in their class and have finished in the top 10 of an AJGA event (top five for girls).

The Jerry Cole Sportsmanship Award was given to Pontus Widegren of Danderyd, Sweden, for demonstrating exemplary sportsmanship. The purpose of the award is to promote integrity and sportsmanship in the game of golf.
