Winner of last year's AJGA Marshallia Ranch Junior, Garret Sapp tied for second in the individual scores at 11-under-par 277 at the Toyota World Junior Golf Cup.

Team USA Captures Toyota World Junior Golf Cup

Team USA, composed of AJGA members Kevin Chappell of Fresno, Calif., Patton Kizzire of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Will Osborne of Wichita Falls, Texas and Garrett Sapp of Cerritos, Calif., fended off a late charge by South Africa to win the Toyota World Junior Golf Cup at Bear’s Paw Country Club in Minakuchi, Japan.

The title is the first for Team USA since 2000 and the sixth overall. For complete results, go to the Golf Coaches Association of America Web site (GCAA). The GCAA and the Junior Orange Bowl Committee conduct the event.

ACE

The Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program provides financial assistance to junior golfers who wish to play in AJGA events. Its goal is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. This program helps to fulfill the AJGA’s mission of developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

What is Leadership Links?

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
