YLC President's Award Nominations Sought

Each year, a President’s Youth Leadership Award will be awarded to one girl and one boy who have demonstrated leadership skills, character and community service through their involvement with the USGA • AJGA Youth Leadership club. The application process is now underway.

In order to be considered for the award, the AJGA must receive the following by May 1, 2006:

  • Complete the application form (Click Here to Download)
  • All logged volunteer hours in the AJGA Player Center
  • One letter of recommendation from an organization with which you volunteered
  • An essay describing your volunteer experience in 500 words of less. Please address how this particular experience impacted you and the importance of volunteerism for the future of the game of golf.

Application materials should be mailed, together, to:

Winners will be announced by May 22, 2006

Award winners will receive four U.S. Open tickets, access to the USGA hospitality tent, and an automatic entry into the Rolex Tournament of Champions. The winners will be honored at the Rolex Dinner of Champions at Hiwan Golf Club in Denver, Colorado, July 7, 2006.

ACE

The Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program provides financial assistance to junior golfers who wish to play in AJGA events. Its goal is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. This program helps to fulfill the AJGA’s mission of developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

Leadership Links

What is Leadership Links?

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
