Alexis Thompson

Alexis Thompson of Coral Springs, Fla. won the Westfield Junior PGA Championship, becoming the youngest winner in tournament history. She did so in dramatic fashion, staging a back-nine comeback that featured four birdies in five holes. Thompson fired a final-round 69 for a tournament total 1-under-par 283. Christopher DeForest of Cottekill, N.Y., captured first place in the Boys Division, firing a 10-under-par 274 to win by six strokes.

Rickie Fowler of Murrieta, Calif., won The Players Amateur, firing a 24-under-par 264. University of Alabama's Michael Thompson finished in second, two shots back.

Professional Round-up

Daniel Summerhays made history on Sunday, becoming the first amateur to win a Nationwide Tour event. Summerhays captured the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational. He finished at 6-under-par 278 for a two-stroke victory.

Morgan Pressel finished second at the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic. Pressel made a hole-in-one on the sixth hole, but could not catch eventual champion Se Ri Pak.
