K12 to Sponsor AJGA Qualifier Series in 2009
Leading national provider of online school programs will provide more than 5,000 opportunities to junior golfers

BRASELTON, Ga. — K12 Inc., the national leader in K-12 curriculum and online school programs, announced its sponsorship of the American Junior Golf Association’s qualifier series Monday, a partnership which will provide more than 5,000 playing opportunities to top junior golfers nationwide.

The K12 Qualifier Series offers 100 junior golfers, ages 12-18, national competition and the opportunity to compete for a selected number of spots in an AJGA open tournament field. Each 18-hole qualifier precedes one of approximately 50 Open tournaments, and ensures the strongest golfers vie for each AJGA trophy.

K12 Inc. also operates the K12 International Academy, an accredited, diploma-granting online private school serving students worldwide.

K12’s mission is to provide any child the curriculum and tools to maximize success in life, regardless of geographic, financial, or demographic circumstances. The K12 program combines a cognitive research-based curriculum with individualized and flexible learning approaches for students of all abilities in numerous education settings. The K12 academic program is used by many young people who are pursuing a career in athletics, music, art, acting, and other professions. More information can be found at www.k12.com.

“We are very excited to promote the K12Qualifier Series,” said Jason Etzen, AJGA executive vice president of corporate partnerships. “The support of K12 will provide opportunities that impact the lives of young people in a positive way while also helping to grow the sport of golf.”
