AJGA Cliffs Championships Honored With Hospitality Award

BRASELTON, Ga. — The Cliffs at Keowee Falls was honored by the American Junior Golf Association with its Hospitality Award. The AJGA Hospitality Award is given annually to the tournament that creates a special tournament experience for the juniors and families in attendance at the event.

The Cliffs provided each player, guest, and volunteer at the tournament with their own personalized credential to wear during the tournament. The tournament cookout was a colorful carnival theme with a climbing wall, dunk tank, basketball shot and closest-to-the-hole competition. These festivities were open to all family and friends who attended the event. The Cliffs at Keowee Falls provided complimentary delicious hot and cold buffets for breakfast lunch and dinner everyday for all players, parents, volunteers, and staff. Furthermore, the course hosted a parents reception on Friday night with hors d’oeuvres, dinner, and drinks. Additionally, each player’s family received a gift bag with a fleece blanket, a pedometer, a DVD about The Cliffs, and a welcome letter from the course. Moreover there was a constant fruit and beverage station in operation all week in front of the scoreboard on the clubhouse patio. The station was equipped with everything a young player might need, including juice, water, Gatorade, granola and fruit.

In addition to receiving their traditional Titleist golf balls and Polo shirts the players were treated with their own engraved name tag on their locker, which came stocked with the tournament hat, towel, pedometer and Polo Ralph Lauren wind vest with The Cliffs logo. During the players meeting the Director of Wellness, Vance Ferrigno, took the time to speak to the juniors about wellness and taking care of a young athlete’s body.

“The Cliffs is honored to be recognized for its hospitality to the players and staff of the AJGA during the 2008 tournament that was hosted here at Keowee Falls,” said Scott Beville, president of Cliffs Real Estate, Inc. “It’s a testament to The Cliffs’ hospitality team and our property owners, who made everyone with the AJGA and the players and their parents feel so welcome. We are looking forward to having the AJGA return to The Cliffs at Walnut Cove for 2009.”
