AJGA Announces New Partnership with AccuSport International, Inc.

BRASELTON, Ga. – The American Junior Golf Association announced Thursday a new partnership with AccuSport International, Inc., the leading developer and marketer of golf launch monitors.

The partnership features the AccuSport Championship hosted by Webb Simpson, AJGA alumnus and current PGA TOUR player. The event will be held Aug. 16-19, 2010, in Winston Salem, N.C., home to Simpson’s alma mater, Wake Forest University, and AccuSport’s headquarters.

As the “Official Launch Monitor of the AJGA,” AccuSport’s Vector Launch System, recognized throughout the golf industry for its accuracy, portability and affordability, will be available for AJGA junior golfers’ use during 2010 events.
Players will have access to Vector launch monitors to gather data on their swing, including launch angle, ball speed, backspin, side spin and side angle instantly.

“Our new partnership with the AJGA will truly benefit aspiring, young golfers all across America as they come to learn more about their ball flight, spin rates and overall shot characteristics,” said Don Thorup, AccuSport’s President. “Additionally, we’re delighted to have the opportunity to work with Webb Simpson, one of the truly great rising young stars on the PGA TOUR.”

AccuSport International, Inc., located in Winston Salem, N.C., is driven by technology and a desire to improve the game of golf, and make it more enjoyable and accessible to golfers of all skill levels. AccuSport introduced the Vector Launch System to the commercial market in 2003 and has rapidly become the industry leader in launch monitor technology and market share. With distribution in Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan and Australia, the Vector Launch System products have become the tools that are changing the way the golf industry looks at fitting, teaching and practice. It’s going to be fantastic for our players to be exposed to the same level of technology as a tour professional on a weekly basis.”

The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.
