AJGA Alum Hunter Mahan Captures Second PGA Tour Win

BRASELTON, Ga. – A pair of AJGA alumni finished 1-2 at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, Feb. 28. Hunter Mahan carded back-to-back rounds of 65 on the weekend and posted a 16-under-par total to claim a one-shot victory over Rickie Fowler. The win is his second career PGA Tour victory and first since claiming the title at the 2007 Travelers Championship.

As a junior, Mahan was named the 1999 Rolex Junior Player of the Year after posting victories at the 1998 Polo Golf Junior Classic and the 1999 U.S. Junior Amateur. His match play prowess has carried over into his professional career, as Mahan has been a part of two victorious Presidents Cup teams (2007, 2009) and a victorious Ryder Cup team (2008). He has recorded a combined record of 6-4-4 in these matches.

Mahan is a proud supporter of the Under Armour® / Hunter Mahan Championship, which will be held at TPC Craig Ranch in his hometown of McKinney, Texas. This 54-hole championship will be played April 23-25.
