Duke of York Young Champions Trophy Wraps Up in England

Anthony Paolucci of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., and Kristen Park of Buena Park, Calif., winners of the 2010 Rolex Tournament of Champions, have joined the world's top junior golfers in England this week to compete for the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy .

Paolucci and Park are representing the United States in this unique 54-hole event, started by the Duke of York, Prince Andrew. Boys and girls do not play in separate divisions, as they play for one trophy, albeit from different yardages.

Adding greater luster to the event is the venue. It is being played at Royal St. George's, which will host the 2011 British Open. Past players in its
Final Round Notes
• For the United States, Anthony Paolucci finished T7 with rounds of 75-79-73—227. Kristen Park was DQ'd in the final round.
• Dermot McElroy of Ireland held on to the runner-up spot after a final-round even-par 71, one stroke back of the champion Gudmundur Kristjansson of Iceland.
• Ireland rounded out the top three with Leona Maguire in third place at 9-over-par 222.
• Paul Dunne of Ireland and Connie Chen of South Africa finished in a tie for 10th 15-over-par 228.

10-year history include Rory McIlroy, Oliver Wilson, Matteo Manassero, Anna Nordqvist and Azahara Munoz.Last year, Moriya Jutanugarn of Thailand became the first female champion, with Laetitia Beck of Israel finishing runner-up.

Many players with AJGA experience are representing their home countries this week, including: Sepp Straka (Austria), Augusta James (Canada), Terrence Ng (China/Hong Kong), Paul Dunne, Dermot McElroy, Lisa and Leona Maguire (Ireland), Connie Chen and Brandon Stone (South Africa), and Ariya and Moriya Jutanugarn (Thailand).

Round Two Notes
• United States player Anthony Paolucci posted a second-round 8-over-par 79 to move into a tie for ninth. Fellow U.S. junior Kristen Park recorded 81 to sit tied for 27th.
• Dermot McElroy and Leona Maguire of Ireland share a tie for second at 6-over-par 148
• Two-time Junior PLAYERS Championship participant Paul Dunne of Ireland is tied for fifth at 11-over-par 215.
• Lisa Maguire of Ireland moved to 13th following a second-round 9-over-par 80. She sits tied with Junior PLAYERS Championship competitor Brandon Stone of South Africa.

Round One Notes
• Representing the United States, Anthony Paolucci sits tied for third at 4-over-par 75, while Kristen Park is tied for 22nd at 9-over-par 80.
• Dermot McElroy of Ireland leads by two strokes at even-par 71. McElroy recently finished in the top 15 at The Junior PLAYERS Championship.
• PING Junior Solheim Cup and Curtis Cup participants Lisa and Leona Maguire help Ireland to the top of the leaderboard. Leona holds sole possession of second  at 2-over-par 73 while Lisa follows one stroke back in a four-way tie for  third.
• A two-time participant in the ANNIKA Invitational, South Africa’s Connie Chen is tied for seventh with a 5-over-par 76.
• Defending champion Moriya Jutanugarn of Thailand is tied for ninth at 6-over-par 77.
