The AJGA prides itself on preparing junior golfers for
college. The Alumni Honor Roll recognizes past AJGA players who have recently
medaled at a college tournament.
Georgia Tech took home its first U.S. Collegiate title at
their home club, The Golf Club of Georgia, Oct. 24-26. The Yellow Jackets were
led by junior James White, who posted a first-round 10-under-par 62 to capture
a wire-to-wire individual crown. The Georgia Tech team posted a tournament and
school record when they won by 27 shots. In addition to White, AJGA alumni Richard Werenski,
John-Tyler Griffin, Paul Haley, William Miller and Seth Reeves, all competed
for the Yellow Jackets.
Arkansas freshman Emily Tubert matched an NCAA record with a
first-round 9-under-par 63 and captured medalist honors at the Las Vegas
Collegiate Showdown, Oct. 25-27 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City,
Nev. Tubert took home her second individual title in three starts this year, while
the Razorbacks captured their second team victory this season.
