Dates to Remember

To better prepare AJGA members in the tournament application process, each week we will preview tournaments with upcoming application deadlines. The following tournament applications are now open and will close on Tuesday, July 23, at 5 p.m. ET.
The CorseMax / Philadelphia Runner Junior will be played at Applebrook Golf Club in Malvern, Pa., August 25-27. Performance Based Entry is projected to fill 41 Boys’ spots and 17 Girls’ spots.
This will be the ninth playing of the CorseMax / Philadelphia Runner Junior. This year’s tournament finds a new home at the Applebrook Golf Club. Golf Digest ranks the Pennsylvania course on the “Best in State” list. The 1946 Heisman Trophy winner, Glenn Davis was a founding member on the club’s board of governors.
The Sunriver Junior Open will be played on the Meadows Course at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore., August 26-29. Performance Based Entry is projected to fill 91 Boys’ spots and 26 Girls’ spots.
A two-time host of the Rolex Tournament of Champions, Sunriver Resort hosts the AJGA for the fifth time in 2013.
The AJGA Girls Championship will be played at The Furman Golf Club in Greenville, S.C., August 30-September 2. Performance Based Entry is projected to fill 73 Girls’ spots.
The Furman Golf Club has hosted the AJGA Girls Championship for five consecutive years. The club is home to the Furman University golf teams.

The Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program provides financial assistance to junior golfers who wish to play in AJGA events. Its goal is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. This program helps to fulfill the AJGA’s mission of developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

What is Leadership Links?

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
