AJGA alumni named to Curtis Cup team

USGA Announcement

Several AJGA alumni were recently named to the 2012 Curtis Cup team, which will be played at The Nairn Golf Club in Scotland, June 8 – 10. AJGA alumni named to the team include Lindy Duncan of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Austin Ernst of Seneca, S.C., Tiffany Lua of Rowland Heights, Calif., and Brooke Pancake of Chattanooga, Tenn.

Duncan, a junior at Duke, was a three-time Rolex Junior All-American as a junior golfer and had one win in her AJGA career. She was a semifinalist at the 2006 U.S. Women’s Amateur at the age of 15, and finished as the second-lowest amateur at the 2011 Women’s Open.

Austin Ernst is a sophomore at LSU where she became the first freshman in 13 years to win the individual title at the NCAA DI Championship. Ernst, who served as a player representative on the AJGA Board of Directors during her junior year of high school, was a two-time Rolex Junior All-American.

Lua, a junior at UCLA, will return for her second Curtis Cup. A four-time Rolex Junior All-American, Lua claimed two AJGA titles in her junior golf career and was a member of the 2009 victorious U.S. PING Junior Solheim Cup team.

Pancake, a senior at the University of Alabama, advanced to the semifinals of the 2011 U.S. Women’s Amateur and Is a three-time NGCA All-American Scholar. As a junior, she notched nine top-10 finishes in AJGA competition.
