The Junior PLAYERS Championship presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf will tee off at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., on Friday, August 30. The all-boys field, made up of 78 players from 22 states, Australia, Canada, Mexico, Norway, Panama, Spain and Sweden, will compete in the seventh annual event that shares a home with its PGA TOUR counterpart.

In cooperation with the PGA TOUR, the AJGA has hosted the event at TPC Sawgrass in an effort to give juniors an experience as similar to the professionals’ at The PLAYERS Championship as possible. Traditionally, the AJGA replicates the course setup of The PLAYERS Championship for two rounds on the Stadium Course.

Since its inception in 2007, the event has seen champions in Morgan Hoffmann (2007), Evan Beck (2008), Bobby Wyatt (2009), Michael Johnson (2010), Gavin Hall (2011) and Robby Shelton IV (2012). In 2012, Shelton of Wilmer, Ala., sealed a wire-to-wire victory with his 42nd par of the week on the final hole to edge Brad Dalke of Hobart, Okla., by one stroke and take his first and lone AJGA victory.
