Each year, the ANNIKA Invitational adds a new champion to the record books, adding more history and tradition to the AJGA schedule. This year marks the sixth-annual edition of the ANNIKA Invitational, but it has been a can’t-miss stop for the best junior girls around since the inaugural event, thanks to legendary golfer Annika Sorenstam’s involvement.

Inaugural champion Simin Feng finished her junior career as a four-time Rolex Junior All-American and five-time AJGA champion. She is currently a freshman at Vanderbilt.

Victoria Tanco, 2010 champion, notched four Invitational victories with the AJGA before turning pro. Celine Boutier, 2011 champion, is in the midst of her sophomore season at Duke University after being named ACC Rookie of the Year.

The 2012 champion, Alison Lee closed her junior career as Rolex Junior Player of the Year behind the strength of nine career victories and six consecutive, first-team Rolex Junior All-America honors. Currently the top-ranked amateur in the world, Lee recorded back-to-back individual victories during her first season competing for UCLA.

In 2013, Bethany Wu set a tournament record of 10-under-par 206 as she captured her first AJGA Invitational win. She will defend her title in 2014, looking to become the first repeat winner of the ANNIKA Invitational.

With the ANNIKA Invitational’s roots in the United States, the tournament has branched out, adding the ANNIKA Invitational at Mission Hills, China’s first all-girls junior tournament, and the ANNIKA Invitational Europe contested in Sweden. The top three finishers from each international tournament were invited to compete in the United States counterpart.
