The AJGA is proud to partner with alum Rickie Fowler as he helps lead the next generation in charitable giving through the AJGA’s Leadership Links program. Fowler will play six holes of golf in Los Angeles this fall with the top-three fundraisers from each of the following program categories:

  • “Playing fore their Future” to benefit the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation
  • Birdies for Charity/Golf-a-thon for a junior golf charity
  • Birdies for Charity/Golf-a-thon for any other charity (charities not related to junior golf or the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation)

Juniors must raise $5,000 or more in one of the above categories to be eligible.

The Leadership Links program allows the AJGA to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. Through Leadership Links, juniors can raise money for a charity of their choice along with the AJGA’s Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant Program, which strives to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources.

The “Playing fore their Future” program is an easy way for juniors to learn charitable skills while supporting the research of childhood diseases through the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation. Participating juniors raise money through a personalized website and fliers provided by the AJGA in honor of a child who has faced a serious disease.

Through Birdies for Charity and Golf-a-thon programs, juniors are able to raise money for both a junior golf charity and/or a charity of their choice as they play this summer. The United States Golf Association (USGA) will also match funds raised, dollar for dollar, for junior golf charities. Birdies for Charity allows juniors to secure pledges and one time donations for birdies they achieve in any tournament rounds throughout the year. With Golf-a-thon, juniors secure pledges and one time donations based on the number of holes played during a specific time frame. Participants will be given a personalized website to easily track the number of holes played or birdies made in tournaments as well as donations and pledges.
