Three Things for Sunday at The PING Invitational

1. Nelly Korda has some familiar company at the top of the leaderboard. Kaitlyn Papp, Andrea Lee, Sierra Brooks and Kristen Gillman are in the top five with Korda, and this quintet traveled to Germany last month and helped the Americans win the PING Junior Solheim Cup on foreign soil for the first time.

2. Rij Patel was named an AJGA Scholastic Junior All-American last week, and he is the only one competing in Stillwater. In the last five years, only three other boys have competed in The PING Invitational the same year as being named an AJGA Scholastic Junior All-American, including Patrick Rodgers in 2010. 3. Spencer Soosman and Nelly Korda each shot 4-under-par 68 Saturday, and those scores were the best opening rounds at The PING Invitational in five years. In 2010, Ollie Schniederjans opened with a 68 en route to a T4 finish, while Kyung Kim carded a 67 in the first round before finishing tied for second.
