TaylorMade-adidas Golf Becomes New National Sponsor of the American Junior Golf Association
Expanded relationship further illustrates TaylorMade’s commitment to continued success and growth of the AJGA, junior golf

The American Junior Golf Association today announced its new national sponsor TaylorMade-adidas Golf, an industry leader in product innovation and technology. The sponsorship represents a firm commitment by TaylorMade-adidas Golf to junior golf and to the sustained growth and development of the AJGA.

Effective January 1, 2016, the 10-year sponsorship enables TaylorMade-adidas Golf to work nationally with the AJGA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of junior golfers who aspire to earn college scholarships through competitive junior golf.

“The substantial and long-term commitment from our new national sponsor TaylorMade-adidas Golf will create excitement in 2016 and beyond,” said Stephen Hamblin, AJGA executive director. “This relationship aligns us with a creative group of people who are dedicated to the AJGA mission of helping young men and women realize their dreams.”

TaylorMade-adidas Golf has supported the AJGA for more than 25 years, serving as product supplier, title sponsor of events and an Official Partner since 2011. The elevated national sponsorship introduces TaylorMade as the “Official Ball of the AJGA”, adidas as the “Official Shoe of the AJGA” and new support of TaylorMade-adidas Golf Live Scoring, which allows fans easy access to scores from all AJGA tournaments.

TaylorMade-adidas Golf will continue its support of the TaylorMade-adidas Golf Junior at Innisbrook hosted by Justin Rose, one of the most competitive Open events on the AJGA schedule, as well as presenting sponsorship of The Junior PLAYERS Championship presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf, a boys-only Invitational conducted in conjunction with the PGA TOUR.

“We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with the AJGA and become the national sponsor for many years to come,” said Eddie Erkmanis, TaylorMade’s senior director of global sports marketing. “The AJGA is the premier junior golf organization in the world, providing the highest level of competitiveness and growth for junior golfers on and off the golf course. This sponsorship deepens our commitment to junior golf and to the continued development of the game’s next generation.”

In addition to TaylorMade’s financial support, AJGA members will receive Tour Preferred or Tour Preferred X golf balls at each AJGA tournament and qualifier. At select AJGA tournaments, participants will receive adidas Golf footwear and apparel.

TaylorMade-adidas Golf also will lend exclusive product support to the ACDS Junior All-Star Series, a collection of 16 planned events specifically designed for boys and girls, ages 12-15, to help develop their skills against their peers while building Performance Based Entry status to gain further competitive access to AJGA tournaments.

Since its inception in 1978, AJGA membership has realized significant year-over-year growth, from a few thousand members to nearly 6,500 in 2015, the most recent in an eight-year string of record-high organizational membership.

Current AJGA members represent the next generation of college, amateur and professional golf. More than 99 percent of each class of AJGA members will attend college, with 75 percent earning some type of financial assistance. AJGA alumni represent a majority of TaylorMade’s PGA and LPGA Tour staffers including Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia, Daniel Berger, Paula Creamer and Jessica Korda.
