Toste steps into lead in Boys Division at AJGA Stonehenge Junior Open
Weaver holds lead in Girls Division after second round

WINONA LAKE, Ind. — Zachary Toste of Pembroke Pines, Fla., carded a 3-under-par 68 in Wednesday's second round to take the lead in the Boys Division with a 8-under-par 134 for the tournament. In the Girls Division, Lindsey Weaver of Scottsdale, Ariz., maintains the lead at the AJGA Stonehenge Junior Open with a 7-under-par tournament total of 135.

Conducted by the American Junior Golf Association, the AJGA Stonehenge Junior Open is a 54-hole stroke play event with a 36-hole cut at Stonehenge Golf & Country Club. The tournament field consists of 111 boys and 35 girls from 14 states and three countries, Mexico, Guatemala and Colombia. The Boys Division plays the par-71 course at 6,801 yards while the Girls Division plays at 6,044 yards. The Girls Division was cut to the top 18 girls and ties, and the Boys Division was cut to the top 56 and ties.

Toste, who had three birdies on his front nine, credits a level-headed approach to his 3-under-par round.

“Everything was working really well in my round today, it was a solid day and nothing really went bad. I just hit it down the fairway and put in on the green to two putt,” Toste said. “I plan on just taking it easy heading into the final round, play with a level head and just play the best I can.”

Doug Ghim of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Adam Wood of Zionsville, Ind., sit one stroke back in second at 7-under-par 135. Tied for fourth with a 3-under-par 139 are Tyler Ostrom of Warsaw, Ind., and Colton Estevez of Phoenix.

Weaver continued her solid play in Wednesday's second round carding a 3-under-par 68 for a tournament total of 135.

“My round today was pretty similar to yesterday's, I was hitting my irons pretty close and I used a lot of wedges,” Weaver said. “For the final round I'm going to just try and stick with my normal game plan and not worry about anyone else.”

Having verbally committed to play at Notre Dame, Weaver said she is excited to have her future coaches watch her play and said she is looking forward to time in South Bend after her 2012 graduation.

Catherina Li of Kent, Wash., sits in second with an even-par tournament total of 142, while Alexandra Harkins of Crystal Lake, Ill., is in third with a 2-over-par tournament total of 144.
