AJGA Institutes Proof-of-Age Policy

New policy to go into effect for 2004 season

AJGA Proof-of-Age Policy

In an effort to ensure all AJGA participants are age eligible to compete in AJGA tournaments, proof-of-age documentation will be required by ALL participants for the 2004 season and beyond. Proof-of-age documentation must be submitted and accepted by the AJGA BEFORE participants are able to apply for AJGA tournaments or qualifiers. This policy applies to all AJGA members, regardless of when the member joined or Performance Based Entry status with the AJGA. This policy also applies to all juniors who wish to apply to any AJGA event. Non-members wishing to apply for qualifiers must also submit proof-of-age documentation prior to applying for Qualifiers.

Participants will be able to submit an original proof-of-age document issued by the federal, state, provincial registrars of vital statistics. Please click here for further detailed information.

Please send all documentation to:
American Junior Golf Association
Attn.: Proof-of-Age Administrator
1980 Sports Club Drive
Braselton, GA 30517

It is recommended, but not mandatory, that all proof-of-age documentation be sent to the AJGA by a guaranteed mail service. The AJGA is not responsible for documentation lost in the mail. All documentation must be received by the AJGA before members are eligible to apply to tournaments or qualifiers.

Please allow two to three days for documentation to be processed by the AJGA. When proof-of-age documentation has been processed, an e-mail will be sent and the member will then be eligible to apply to tournaments or qualifiers. If acceptable alternative documentation is used, the documents will be reviewed by the AJGA. If the documentation is approved by the AJGA, the Association will sign the Statement in Lieu of Acceptable Proof-of-Age Certificate and return the certificate along with the player's documentation. A record of proof-of-age will be kept on file with the AJGA for the remainder of the junior’s AJGA career.

All questions and concerns may be directed to the AJGA Player Services Department by calling 877-373-2542 or e-mail: proof_of_age@ajga.org.
