MacGregor Golf and the American Junior Golf Association would like to congratulate Andrew Putnam of University Place, Wash., and Sarah Hemingway of Kingwood, Texas, who have won the MacGregor Golf Skills Challenge end-of-the-year drawing and will now be heading to Scottsdale, Ariz., for a round of golf with PGA TOUR player Aaron Baddeley. Putnam won the Long Drive Contest at the Hiwan Junior presented by Stonecreek Funding, while Hemingway won the Closest-to-the-Hole Contest at the OSSO Junior at Oak Tree as well as the Long Drive Contest at the Abilene Reporter-News/Lawrence Hall Abilene Junior.

The MacGregor Golf Skills Challenge took place at the tournament cookout for each of the eight events, usually held after the first round of tournament play. Three of the events featured a Long Drive Contest, three featured a Putting Contest while the other two events had a Closest to the Hole Contest. The male and female winner from each event was placed into a drawing for the round of golf with MacGregor Tour player Aaron Baddeley.

“We are proud to sponsor the AJGA ‘MacGregor Golf Skills Challenge,” said Barry Schneider, MacGregor owner and CEO. “The young men and women competing in AJGA tournaments represent the future of our game. It is very cool to be a small contributor to such a great organization.”

MacGregor Golf Skills Challenge events took place at eight tournament cookouts on the 2005 AJGA schedule.
