Rule 23: Loose Impediments
I was playing in a high school match a few days ago and on the third hole my opponent hit a chip shot from the deep rough behind the green. While her ball was still moving, she removed a leaf that was three feet behind the hole. Her ball never reached the spot where the leaf was at rest, but our coach said it was a penalty because the leaf was moved while the ball was in motion. Was this correct?
