Rule 6: The Player; Decision 6-4/5.3

Happy New Year from the AJGA! As we get started with another fun-filled year of “By the Book,” we must start with mentioning that as of Jan. 1, 2006, the USGA has released the 2006-07 edition of the Decisions on The Rules of Golf.

While there will not be a change in the Rules of Golf until 2008, there are many new and revised decisions to make note of for this year’s competitions. One new decision that will affect AJGA competitions is decision 6-4/5.3, titled: Additional Persons Carry Items for Player. This decision is written as follows:

May a player have a caddie carry his clubs and additional persons carry other items (e.g. a rainsuit, umbrella, food and drink) for the player, but not the clubs he has selected for the round?
