Medicus
Golf and The Medicus Golf Institute are dedicated to enabling
all golfers to “Live Their Vision” in reaching their
potential. By expanding its corporate vision, mission, products,
and services, Medicus Golf will enable golfers to learn and
grow – both as a person and as a player – in a series
of new and exciting developmental formats.
“We are very excited to be involved with such a professional
organization as the AJGA and have the opportunity to extend
our knowledge and expertise to these fine junior players,”
said Bob Koch, president of Medicus Golf. “In addition,
we look forward to giving all AJGA players the opportunity to
participate in tournament play and provide them with educational
experiences during our Medicus Clinic Series.”
The Medicus Clinic Series will be run under the direction of
Bob Koch and Chuck Evans, executive director of instruction
for Medicus Golf Institute. A clinic will be conducted during
the tournament cookout at each event, which will be held after
the first round of competition.
The 36-hole events will be filled on a first-come, first-served
basis for those AJGA members who are eligible to apply. Each
event will consist of a practice round, a clinic conducted by
an instructor from the Medicus Golf Institute and two competitive
rounds.
The first event of the Series and the AJGA season is scheduled
for April 7-9. The Medicus Preseason Junior at Black Bear will
be conducted at Black Bear Golf Club in Eustis, Fla. Other events
include: Medicus Preseason Junior at RTJ Grand National (April
14-16, Grand National Golf Course - Lake Course, Opelika, Ala.);
Medicus Preseason Junior at Norman (April 21-23, Belmar Golf
Club, Norman, Okla.); Medicus Preseason Junior at Rhode Island
(April 28-30, Newport National Golf Club, Middletown, R.I.);
Medicus Preseason Junior at Red Tail (May 5-7, Red Tail Golf
Club, Avon, Ohio); Medicus Preseason Junior at Rancho Mirage
(May 12-14, Westin Mission Hills Resort - Gary Player Course,
Rancho Mirage, Calif.); Medicus Postseason Junior at Alexandria
(Aug. 25-27, Oakwing Golf Club, Alexandria, La.) and the Medicus
Postseason Junior Lake Havasu (Aug. 25-27, The Refuge Golf Club,
Lake Havasu City, Ariz.).
“The AJGA is very excited about our partnership with Medicus
Golf,” said Jason Etzen, AJGA executive vice president
for corporate partnerships. “The Medicus Preseason/Postseason
Junior Series is a great opportunity for our members who have
never played in an AJGA tournament. These events will allow
juniors to gain valuable experience and exposure at the national
level.”
The Medicus Golf Institution will “live its vision”
by offering three fully integrated learning systems:
• An online learning and training program to educate golfers
in the knowledge of the game and golf specific sessions for
personal training.
• Destination Golf Schools for golfers who want to accelerate
their learning through a two- or three-day format.
• Indoor Training Centers for the student who desires
a training program where they can learn at their own pace and
train on an on-going basis.
All three learning formats will be able to assess the golfer
in their strengths and weaknesses within their game and provide
a standardized roadmap for player development and game enhancement.
