Llaneza, Cantu Compete in LPGA Tour Event

AJGA juniors Alejandra Llaneza of Mexico City, Mexico, and Diana Cantu of Monterrey, Mexico competed in the LPGA Tour's MasterCard Classic in Mexico City Feb. 10-12.

This marked the second consecutive year that Llaneza played in the MasterCard Classic, while Cantu competed in her first LPGA event.


AJGA Juniors Set to Play at LPGA Arizona Tour Stop


AJGA juniors Angela Park of Torrance, Calif., and Esther Choe of Scottsdale, Ariz., have earned spots in the LPGA's Safeway International Presented by Coca-Cola. By besting the field at the Safeway International Amateur Open, they will be able to play in the event at Superstition Mountain Golf & Country Club March 16-19.

Park, currently the top-ranked junior girl according to the AJGA Rankings, shot a 4-under-par 68 to best Choe by one stroke.

Taylore Karle, also of Scottsdale, will have an opportunity to play in the event. After shooting 2-under-par 70 at the Amateur Open, Karle earned a spot in the March 13 qualifier for the LPGA Tour event. The tournament is also held at Superstition Mountain.
