Represents her Country Proudly at Women’s World Cup
of Golf
Fifteen-year-old Ashleigh Simon of Johannesburg, South Africa
teamed with Laurette Maritz to lead South Africa to a 12th
place finish out of 20 teams at the inaugural Women’s
World Cup of Golf. The event, which was sanctioned by the
LPGA and the Ladies European Tour, was held Feb. 11-13 in
George, South Africa.
The event featured three rounds of play consisting of four-ball,
foursomes and singles matches. During the Sunday singles matches,
Simon finished in a tie for 13th place individually after
carding a 2-over-par 75. Simon tied for eigth place at the
2004 Rolex Tournament of Champions.
Joh Captures the Rarest of “Birds”
First-team Rolex Junior All-American Tiffany Joh of San Diego,
tied a course record at the Ladies European Tour ANZ Ladies
Masters at the Royal Pines Resort in Queensland, Australia,
Feb. 25. Joh’s second-round 63 was highlighted by a
double-eagle on the 492-yard par-5 ninth hole, her final hole
of the day. Joh finished the event in a tie for 13th with
a 7-under-par 281.
