Applications
Available for Open and Nike Golf Junior Events Through the End
of July
The AJGA is now accepting applications for over 30 Open and
Nike Golf Junior Series tournaments. The 2005 schedule is the
largest in the Association's history, and applications for events
through the end of July are now open.
This year's schedule includes several PGA Tour venues, including
the Tournament Players Club at Southwind, which will host the
True Temper/David Gossett Junior Championship, July 18-21.

Heather Farr Classic Champion to Compete in LPGA Event
For the second year in a row, In-Bee Park of Las Vegas will
compete in the LPGA Takefuji Classic, which begins April 14
at the Las Vegas Country Club. Park, who finished tied for eighth
at last year's event, will again be playing on a sponsor's exemption.
Park has seven victories in her AJGA career and was the 2002
Rolex Junior Player of the Year. Park is a four-time Rolex Junior
All-American and is currently the top ranked female junior in
the Golfweek/Titleist Performance Index.
Park's most recent AJGA victory came at the Heather Farr Classic
where she tied the 36-hole tournament record by shooting a 4-under-par
138 at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz.
Pressel, Granada Post Solid Finishes at LPGA's First Major
Morgan Pressel of Boca Raton, Fla., and Julieta Granada of Asuncion,
Paraguay, turned out impressive performances on one of golf's
biggest stages at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, March 24-27.
Pressel, a first-team Rolex Junior All-American, crafted rounds
of 70-73-72-75—290 to finish tied for 19th with three
others, including former AJGA standout Paula Creamer. Granada,
the Rolex Junior Player of the Year, produced rounds of 75-71-70-78—294
en route to a tie for 30th at the LPGA's first major of the
year. |
