Dowd Competes at LPGA Tour Stop

Dakoda Dowd, 13, of Palm Harbour, Fla., received a sponsor’s exemption to play in the LPGA Tour’s Ginn Clubs & Resorts Open in Kissimmee, Fla. The 2012 high school graduate flirted with making the cut after a first-round 74, but struggled with an 82 on the second day to miss the cut.

Dowd, who played in the First American Title Junior Classic in Palm Harbor, Fla., fulfilled her mother Kelly Jo’s dream of watching her daughter play in an LPGA tournament. Kelly Jo has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

AJGA to Make First Stop in Mexico

The AJGA is set to make it’s inaugural trip to Mexico with the staging of the Nike Golf Junior Classic hosted by Zona Norte, May 26-28 at Valle Alto, A.C. Club de Golf in Monterrey, Mexico.

Be sure to check out the next edition of the AJGA Link for pictures and results from the first AJGA tournament held south of the border!
