QUESTION:

Definition: Holed
I was at the NCAA Women's East Regional a few weeks ago where one of the rarest shots in golf, a hole-in-one, happened not once, but twice in the same group. When the two girls reached the hole they discovered that the first player's ball had come out of the hole and the second player's ball stayed in. The Rules Officials awarded an ace for both players. Can you explain why this was the case?
