C.A. Roberts, senior vice president of business development
and principal at OB Sports, was appointed to the American
Junior Golf Association Board of Directors. Roberts, formerly
a tournament director and director of development at the
AJGA, was appointed to the Board in February.

A 1988 graduate of Baylor University with a degree in finance, Roberts coordinates
all marketing and promotional functions at O.B. Sports and seeks out new opportunities
for the company to manage, develop and acquire new golf course projects.
“C.A. (Roberts) is very knowledgeable in golf,” said AJGA Executive
Director Stephen Hamblin. “He was key to the growth of our organization
during his time as a staff member, and since joining OB Sports, has been
vital in helping the AJGA secure fantastic venues for many of our events.”
During his tenure at the AJGA (1990-1996), Roberts first served as a tournament
director and went on to become the director of development, where he managed
and recruited more than 50 prominent corporate partners, coordinated all
of the Association’s tournament scheduling and implemented a variety
of fund-raising initiatives. Since joining OB Sports, he has helped that
organization achieve similar growth starting with a management portfolio
of five courses in 1996 that today includes 29 prestigious properties throughout
the United States and Mexico.
“(Roberts) will make a great AJGA Board member, as he knows and understands
our mission and purpose and will be a significant contributor in moving the
organization forward,” Hamblin said.
Roberts’ company, OB Sports, has always been a supporter of the AJGA
hosting, events at many of their courses dating back to 1980. The Founder & CEO
of OB Sports, Orrin Vincent, was an original board member of the AJGA and
received the organization’s Digger Smith Award in 2004.
The AJGA Board of Directors is a combination of business and community leaders
that includes two AJGA junior members, as well as national chairmen from the
PGA and LPGA Tours.
