| Kevin
Schultz of Richardson, Texas, leads the West boys with 360
points. A second-team Rolex Junior All-American, Schultz recently
captured the crown at the Justin Leonard/Deloitte Junior Team
Championship. The win was his third AJGA victory.
Schultz also posted a top-five finish at the 2004 Rolex Tournament
of Champions. The University of Texas signee’s 2003
finishes include a win at the I.R.I. Golf Group Oakridge Junior,
a second-place finish at the Abilene Reporter-News/Lawrence
Hall Abilene Junior and a third-place finish at the HP Boys
Junior Championship.

Philip Francis of Scottsdale, Ariz., comes to Canon Cup with
300 points. Francis began playing with the AJGA in 2002 after
tying for 10th at the 1999 Junior World Golf Championship.
He has six career top-10 AJGA finishes including a recent
tie for second at the FootJoy Boys Invitational and a tie
for ninth at the AJGA Southwestern Junior. Francis also performed
well at the 2004 Rolex Tournament of Champions, tying for
12th at the prestigious event.
Daniel Lim of Gilroy, Calif., joins the West Team with 290
points. A honorable mention Rolex Junior All-American, Lim
captured his most recent win at the Las Vegas Founders Junior
Golf Championship. In addition to tying for 12th at this year’s
Rolex Tournament of Champions, he has also posted two top-10
finishes in 2004. In 2003, he took home the crown at the I.R.I.
Golf Group Arizona National Junior and has a career total
of seven top-10 finishes in AJGA events.
Rory Hie of Lakewood, Calif., is tied with Lim in Canon Cup
points at 290. Performing very well recently, Hie is the only
junior in the Boys Division to win two AJGA events this year.
He captured the titles at both the Heather Farr Classic and
the Lennar Junior at Mission Hills. His first round 64 in
the Heather Farr Classic earned him a place in the AJGA record
book, placing him third in tournament scoring in the low 18-hole
round category. Ranked in the top five by the Golfweek/Titleist
Performance Index, he has five additional top-10 AJGA finishes,
including a tie for runner-up honors at the 2004 Las Vegas
Founders Junior Golf Championship.
Jordan Cox of Redwood City, Calif., comes to the tournament
with 280 points. Cox started playing in the AJGA in 2003 when
he won the Ashworth Junior at Diablo Grande. He posted an
additional top-10 finish in 2003 at the Lennar Junior at Mission
Hills and took runner-up honors at the U.S. Junior Amateur
Championship. This year, he has posted two top-five finishes
including a tie for fifth at the FootJoy Boys Invitational.
Behind Cox in Canon Cup points is Lucas Lee of Torrance, Calif.,
with 230 points. Lee is an honorable mention Rolex Junior
All-American. He captured his first AJGA victory in 2003 with
a win at the PING Junior at Sunriver Resort. He followed this
with a second victory at the 2004 I.R.I. Arizona National
Mixed Team Championship hosted by Annika Sorenstam and Jim
Furyk. In addition to his eight career top-10 AJGA finishes,
Lee posted top-15 finish at the 2004 Rolex Tournament of Champions.
Christopher Ward of McKinney, Texas, makes his first appearance
at Canon Cup with a total of 205 points. Ward found his first
AJGA victory this year at the TaylorMade-adidas Golf Junior
at The Woodlands when he defeated Ryan Myers of Flint, Texas
on the first hole of rain induced sudden-death playoff. Using
the momentum of this victory, Ward posted a tie for seventh
at the Thunderbird International Junior and a tie for fourth
at the Justin Leonard/Deloitte Junior Team Championship. The
2006 graduate has four additional top-10 finishes.
Will Osborne of Witchita Falls, Texas, tied with Ward for
a total of 205 Canon Cup points. A second-team Rolex Junior
All-American, Osborne began playing with the AJGA in 2001.
In 2003, he captured his first AJGA crown at the Justin Leonard/Deloitte
Junior Team Championship. Additionally, six of his career
total 12 top-10 AJGA finishes occurred in 2003. The University
of Arkansas signee’s best finish this year occurred
when he took runner-up honors at the Justin Leonard/Deloitte
Junior Team Championship, falling two strokes behind fellow
Canon Cup team member Kevin Schultz.
Jamie Lovemark of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., makes his Canon
Cup debut as a captain’s pick. Ranked in the top 20
by the Golfweek/Titleist Performance Index, Lovemark
recently found his first victory at the prestigious Rolex
Tournament of Champions where he won the event by a margin
of six strokes. Prior to capturing this crown, Lovemark posted
a tie for third-place at the Lennar Junior at Mission Hills.
The 2006 graduate also recently picked up a win at the Western
Junior.
Erik Flores of Grass Valley, Calif., joins the West as a captain’s
pick. The third-team Rolex Junior All-American found recent
success at the Rolex Tournament of Champions where he tied
for third. He had an additional top-five finish in 2004 at
the Heather Farr Classic. The holder of two AJGA titles, Flores
won both the 2003 Las Vegas Founders Junior Golf Championship
and the 2002 Nike Golf Junior at Cimarron. He has a total
of eight career top-10 AJGA finishes.
