In the midst of its 15th year serving as a sponsor for the American Junior Golf Association, PING’s loyal support has enabled thousands of juniors the chance to earn college scholarships.

The PING Junior at The Woodlands, held over Easter Weekend in The Woodlands, Texas, is one of five events in which PING serves as title sponsor.
Through its years of quality sponsorship, PING has made a tremendous impact on the junior golf community by helping to provide opportunities for junior golfers throughout the nation and the world with the chance to play quality junior golf amongst top competition.

PING's impact will come to fruition Sept. 5-7 with the third edition of the PING Junior Solheim Cup, held at The Bridgewater Club in Westfield, Ind. Modeled after The Solheim Cup, the event will feature 12 of the top U.S. girls versus their European counterparts.

“We appreciate PING’s long-term commitment to the AJGA and junior golf,” said Jason Etzen, AJGA executive vice president of development. “Countless juniors have fulfilled their dreams of attaining college golf scholarships by playing in PING tournaments.”

Now in its fourth year as an Official Partner with the AJGA, PING is sponsoring four open tournaments this season in addition to the PING Junior Solheim Cup: the PING Junior at The Woodlands, the PING Junior at Mirasol, the PING Junior at Diablo Grande and the PING Phoenix Junior.

The superior level of competition at PING-sponsored tournaments is apparent in the precedent set by past event champions such as Tiger Woods, Grace Park, Kevin Na, Anthony Kim and Paula Creamer.

PING-sponsored tournaments span the nation and are held at top-notch facilities, including The Country Club at Mirasol - Sunrise Course, home of the PGA TOUR's Honda Classic. With their support of junior tournaments in California, Arizona, Texas, Indiana and Florida, PING truly provides opportunites for junior golfers across the entire country.

As PING continues to transform golf today with its pioneering ideas and commitment to quality, it applies this passion to its sponsorship of the AJGA as well. A glaring example of its ardent devotion to the further development of junior golf is the creation of the PING Junior Solheim Cup.

The Pat Abshire Special putting contest has become a staple at PING-sponsored events.
The first of its type in junior golf, the PING Junior Solheim Cup gives top female junior golfers a prime opportunity to expand their horizons by gaining an internationally charged competitive experience. The best 12 junior female golfers in the United States and the top 12 in Europe will contend against each other in this prestigious team event. This tournament exemplifies the highest degree of quality and excellence in junior golf.

"We are very excited to create what I believe to be one of the premier women's junior team events in the world - the PING Junior Solheim Cup,” said John Solheim, CEO and chairman of PING.

A biennial event that began in 2002, this year’s PING Junior Solheim Cup will prove to be exciting as Morgan Pressel, Esther Choe and Kimberly Donovan lead the charge for the U.S. team to retrieve the title claimed by the Europeans in 2003.

The arena of junior golf and the AJGA would not be to the level they are today without the past decade and a half of committed, quality sponsorship from PING. The company is truly a driving force in the development of golf’s next generation.
