Birdies For Charity
AJGA members secure pledges from individuals and corporations for birdies they achieve in tournament rounds. Typically juniors use the tournament rounds they play in June and July (this can vary depending on time of year). Tournament rounds are defined as rounds of golf played in a competition format, they are not required to be in AJGA tournaments. Money raised through this program will support a local charity chosen by the junior as well as the AJGA youth development programs that support our mission by developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships. All juniors will be acknowledged on the scoreboard of AJGA tournaments. Birdies will be counted, for a given time frame, in any competitive rounds played by the juniors. Since juniors are soliciting pledges from family, friends and local business they are responsible to report an accurate number of birdies for that particular time period. $1 per birdie x 35 birdies = $35 dollars x 25 pledges = $800 Goal is to raise $500 per junior Charity Dollars will be split in the following manner, assuming the $500 goal has been met: Junior Golf Charity: 50% of proceeds will be distributed to the local charity of the junior’s choosing. 100% of all money donated will support the charities, no administration fees apply. Non Junior Golf Charity: 40% of proceeds will be distributed to the local charity of the junior’s choosing. 100% of all money donated will support the charities, no administration fees apply. Juniors are responsible for the collection of all pledges and one time donations. How the program works:
