TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

LODGING: Reunion Resort (1000 Reunion Way, Reunion, Florida 34747) will serve as the host hotel. It is important to reserve rooms early due to the limited number of each room type in each location (Seven Eagles and Heritage Crossing). Tournament participants should make reservations by calling Reunion Resort’s reservations office at 407-662-1100 or 888-418-9611 by January 13, 2010. Be sure to identify yourself as part of the ANNIKA Invitational to receive the special rate. Please see below for a description of room types in each location:

Seven Eagles One Bedroom Villa: Features one king size bed or one queen size bed or two twin size beds, full bath, full kitchen and living room along with a balcony or patio. All units have a pullout queen sofa.
Special AJGA rate: $139
Seven Eagles Two Bedroom Townhouse: Features combination of two rooms consisting of one king size bed or one queen size bed or two twin size beds, full kitchen and living room along with a balcony or patio. Each room has its own bath. All units have a pullout queen sofa.
Special AJGA rate: $159
Seven Eagles Three Bedroom Townhouse: Features Master suite with king size bed and spacious bath, full kitchen and living room with dining area along with a balcony or patio. The second bedroom features a queen size bed and the third features twin size beds. Each additional bedroom has its own bath. All units have a pullout queen sofa.
Special AJGA rate: $189

Heritage Crossing One Bedroom Villa: Features one king size bed or one queen size bed or two double beds, full bath, full kitchen and living room along with a balcony or patio. All units have a pullout queen sofa.
Special AJGA rate: $139
Heritage Crossing Two Bedroom Villa: Features combination of two rooms consisting of one king size bed, one queen size bed or two double beds, full kitchen and living room along with a balcony or patio. Each room has its own bath. All units have a pull out queen sofa.
Special AJGA rate: $159
Heritage Crossing Three Bedroom Villa: Features Master suite with king size bed and spacious bath, full kitchen and living room with dining area along with a balcony or patio. The second bedroom features a king or queen bed and the third features two double beds. Each unit has 2 baths. All units have a pull out queen sofa.
Special AJGA rate: $189
Heritage Crossing Three Bedroom Townhouse: More square footage than a three bedroom villa and two stories. Features Master suite with king size bed and spacious bath, full kitchen and living room with dining area along with a balcony or patio. The second bedroom features a king or queen bed and the third features two double beds. Each unit has 2.5 baths. All units have a pull out queen sofa.
Special AJGA rate: $189

Private Homes are also offered for AJGA families and players at special pricing. Please contact the Reservations team for details. Homes are based on availability. Reservations can be made by calling Reunion Resort directly at 888-418-9611 and identify yourself as part of the AJGA ANNIKA Invitational.

AIRPORT/GROUND TRANSPORTATION: Players should book airline reservations into Orlando International Airport (MCO), which is approximately 30 minutes from Reunion Resort. Shuttle service from the airport can be obtained by using Mears Transportation Shuttle Service. Reservations can be made online at http://www.mearstransportation.com/ShuttleService.htm, but are not necessary. For more information about Mears shuttles please call (407) 423-5566. Reunion Resort has a shuttle that runs throughout the property 24 hours per day.

National Car Rental, the Official Car Rental of the PGA TOUR and now the American Junior Golf Association, provides AJGA members and their families with discounted fixed rates on all car categories. Enroll free in the Emerald Club to earn free days or make a reservation directly from the AJGA Web site. TRAVEL/ACCOMODATION STIPEND: The tournament will reimburse up to $300 per player for costs associated with travel (airfare/gas/mileage), rental car and lodging. An additional $200 will be reimbursed for International players who submit International flight receipts. To receive the reimbursement, fill out the form located on the tournament Web page at http://www.ajga.org/MicroSites/index3.asp?TN=201001. You may also bring receipts to the tournament or submit to the AJGA by Monday, March 29, 2010.

PRACTICE ROUND: The tournament practice round will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start Friday, February 12, on the Independence (Watson) Course. No prior arrangements are necessary. Players may sign up for starting hole assignments with an AJGA staff member at the driving range from 7 – 8:15 a.m. Friday, February 12. Players may arrange additional practice rounds by contacting Reunion Resort at (407) 396-3196 on an individual basis. Additional practice round pricing is $75 for juniors and $125 for parents, cart rental included. Please identify yourself as an AJGA participant.

TOURNAMENT TEE TIMES: Tee times for the first and second rounds will run from 8 – 9:48 a.m. First Round off Nos. 1 & 10 tees of Reunion Resort – Independence (Watson) Course Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14. Final Round tee times will be 8 – 9:48 a.m. off the Nos. 1 & 10 tees of the Reunion Resort – Independence (Watson) Course Monday, February 15. A tie for the championship will be decided by a sudden-death playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. As inclement weather may delay play, please make your departing flight as late as possible and keep in mind that Orlando International Airport (MCO) is 30 minutes from Reunion Resort.

REGISTRATION: All participants must register from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday, February 12 on the driving range. Players unable to register at this time MUST notify Tournament Director Courtney Jones prior to Thursday, February 11 at (877) 373-2542 ext. 1708. PLAYERS REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY. Players who fail to attend either Players Registration or the ANNIKA Invitational Banquet without prior approval from the Tournament Director may forfeit their tournament gifts. Approval to miss either event will be granted only in extreme circumstances. An individual absent from these events because they are not staying at the host hotel, are staying in private housing for the week or have a long commute do not constitute acceptable circumstances.

THE ANNIKA INVITATIONAL BANQUET: A banquet dinner will be held Friday, February 12, from 7 – 8:30 p.m. to honor and welcome all of the participants. Attendance is mandatory. Attire for the dinner is business casual – dress or skirt for ladies and a button down and slacks for men.

ANNIKA CLINIC SPONSORED BY ROLEX: Annika Sorenstam will be hosting a clinic at her Annika Academy located at the far end of the Reunion Resort driving range for all players starting at 4 p.m. following the First Round Saturday, February 13. Complimentary food and beverage will be served after the event for all players and family members courtesy of the Ritz-Carlton Destination Club. Attendance is mandatory.

FLORIDA HOSPITAL HEALTHY 100 ATHLETES: Florida Hospital and the ANNIKA Invitational have an exciting evening planned for all Tournament Participants on Sunday, February 14 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Florida Hospital Celebration Campus. The Florida Hospital Healthy 100 Athletes evening will include a program of Media training, Fitness, Nutrition and a chance to learn from Annika Sorenstam's team on all aspects of a healthy lifestyle. A special Valentine's Day dinner menu has been prepared for the evening. Transportation is provided from Reunion Resort to Florida Hospital, don't miss out on this great opportunity for ANNIKA Invitational tournament participants!

FOOD AND BEVERAGE: The Reunion Resort and Club is a private facility which does not accept cash. For purchases of any kind (food, beverages, golf items) not associated with the tournament, only credit cards will be accepted. Cash is not accepted anywhere on property, and there are no ATMs present.

BREAKFAST/LUNCH: During tournament rounds only breakfast and lunch will be provided for all participants and family members complimentary courtesy of The ANNIKA Invitational. Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase during the practice round day.

ELIGIBILITY: High school players are advised to consult your athletic director regarding whether participation in this event will affect your high school eligibility status.

OTHER INFORMATION: · The new USGA condition of competition requiring a player’s clubs conform to the groove and punch mark specifications as detailed in the 2010-2011 Rules of Golf is NOT in effect for AJGA competitions.
· Golf carts and spectator carts are not allowed without a Government issued permanent handicap placard.
· Caddies are not permitted in AJGA tournament play.
· Proper attire is required at all times and failure to comply may result in disqualification (see Dress Code Section of Code of Conduct).
· Push carts (non-motorized) are approved for use by all players as permitted by the host facility. Players are responsible for providing their own push carts.
· No headphones may be worn in AJGA competition.


CODE OF CONDUCT: All AJGA participants are expected to abide by the AJGA Code of Conduct described in the membership brochure. Violations of the Code of Conduct will be dealt with based on the severity of the misconduct.

NO SHOW POLICY: Because we continue to receive far more applications than we have spots available for in our events, we have adopted the following policy:

If you find you cannot compete in The ANNIKA Invitational, you must withdraw from the event by contacting the AJGA office at (877) 373-2542 prior to tournament registration. This allows us to replace you with an alternate. If you cannot compete and do not withdraw properly, you are considered a "no show," and this could affect your 2010 membership status.

ACE

The Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program provides financial assistance to junior golfers who wish to play in AJGA events. Its goal is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. This program helps to fulfill the AJGA’s mission of developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
