AJGA JUNIOR AT INNISBROOK

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

HOUSING: Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club (36750 US Highway 19 North) will serve as the host hotel and has given the AJGA a variety of room options. The Deluxe Guest Room will be $139 per night, Executive Suites $159 per night, One Bedroom Suites $179 per night, and Two Bedroom Suites $239 per night. These rates do not include a 12% Resort Tax and $15 Resort Fee. Average rates for this time range from $205 to $505 per night. Reservations can be made by calling (727) 942-2000 or (800) 456-2000. Be sure to identify yourself as an AJGA participant.

PRIVATE HOUSING: another housing option, players and their parents may request private housing for the event. Typical requests may be for those juniors traveling without parents to the event. Please contact Tournament Director Rob Ockenfuss at (678) 425-4976 if you need or are seeking more information on private housing. This option is first come, first served, and is not guaranteed, so please contact the Tournament Director as soon as possible.

AIRPORT: Players should make reservations into Tampa International Airport (TPA), which is approximately 35 minutes from the hotel and the golf course. Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club provides a shuttle from Tampa International Airport, which must be set up by calling Super Shuttle at (727) 572-1111 or (800) 282-6817. Fees for this service vary by the number of people traveling.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION: National Car Rental, the Official Car Rental of the PGA TOUR and now the American Junior Golf Association, provides AJGA members and their families with discounted fixed rates on all car categories. Enroll free in the Emerald Club to earn free days or make a reservation directly from the AJGA Web site. PRACTICE ROUND: The tournament practice round will be tee times for both the boys and girls divisions on Thursday, April 1. Boys field tee times are available from 8 – 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 – 2 p.m. off Nos. 1 and 10 tees at Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club – Copperhead Course. Girls field tee times are available from 12:30 p.m. – 2:18 p.m. off Nos. 1 and 10 tees at Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club – North Course. Once a player has been accepted into the field, he or she must register for a practice round tee time in the AJGA Player Center. This is the ONLY way to schedule your tournament practice round tee time. All players will be asked to carry their own bag or utilize a push cart during the practice round. Girls may arrange additional practice rounds on the North Course on March 29 after 1 p.m. and boys on the Copperhead Course on March 31 after 1:30 p.m. These times are available on a first-come, first served basis and can be made by contacting Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club at (727) 942-5220. These additional practice rounds are available at a reduced rate of $65 for juniors and $85 for parents. Please note that a cart must be used and a valid drivers license is required. Please be sure to identify yourself as an AJGA participant.

PLAYERS REGISTRATION: Players Registration will be held Thursday, April 1, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the driving range of Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club – Copperhead Course. Players unable to register at this time MUST notify Tournament Director Rob Ockenfuss prior to April 1 at (678) 425-4976. Players Registration is MANDATORY. Players who fail to attend Players Registration without prior approval from the Tournament Director may forfeit their tournament gifts. Approval to miss Players Registration will be granted only in extreme circumstances. An individual absent from this event because they are not staying at the host hotel, are staying in private housing for the week, or have a long commute does not constitute acceptable circumstances.

FOOTJOY SHOE FITTING: At all AJGA Easter weekend events, a representative will be onsite fitting AJGA players with a new pair of FootJoy golf shoes. Boys will be provided with a SYNR-G model, noted for its durable and stable hitting platform during the golf swing. Girls will be given shoes from the LoPro Collection, touted for its fashion and performance. “The Official Footwear of the AJGA”, FootJoy shoe fitting and distribution will take place at Players Registration, Thursday, April 1 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. To learn more about FootJoy products including the SYNR-G and LoPro Collections, visit http://www.footjoy.com.

TOURNAMENT TEE TIMES: BOYS- Boys will play the Copperhead Course. Tee times are as follows: First and Second Rounds: 8 – 9:30 a.m. (Morning Wave) and 12:30 – 2 p.m. (Afternoon Wave) off Nos. 1 and 10 tees. After the Second Round, the boys division will be cut to a minimum of 40% of the field. Exact numbers will be posted at the tournament scoreboard the morning of the First Round.

TOURNAMENT COOKOUT/SOCIAL ACTIVITIES: A Tournament Cookout will be held Saturday, April 3 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club - Copperhead Pool. All juniors and parents are guests of the AJGA.

WINN JUNIOR CUP CHALLENGE: This event is part of the Winn Junior Cup Challenge, where top point finishers will earn the right to compete with Butch Harmon and Natalie Gulbis in a year-end event in Las Vegas. Please visit www.ajga.org for more information.

CARE FOR THE COURSE: The AJGA will be hosting the Care for the Course at Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 3. All juniors are encouraged to come out and help fill divots, repair ball marks and have a little fun doing so.

CODE OF CONDUCT: All AJGA participants are expected to abide by the AJGA Code of Conduct. Violations of the Code of Conduct will be dealt with based on the severity of the misconduct.

OTHER INFORMATION: •The new USGA condition of competition requiring a player’s clubs conform to the groove and punch mark specifications as detailed in the 2010-2011 Rules of Golf is NOT in effect for AJGA competitions.

ACE

The Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program provides financial assistance to junior golfers who wish to play in AJGA events. Its goal is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. This program helps to fulfill the AJGA’s mission of developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

What is Leadership Links?

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
