K12 Qualifier Series Option Policy

Approximately 10 percent of the K12 Qualifier Series field will qualify from the K12 Qualifier into the actual tournament. The exact number of spots will be posted at K12 Qualifier registration. The original qualifiers who are AJGA members (non-members are not eligible) at the start of the K12 Qualifier will have the option to:

1. Play in the tournament for which they are trying to qualify.

OR

2. Decline the opportunity to play in the tournament for which they are trying to qualify and have one Tournament Exemption added to their Performance Based status ("Opt Out").

(Example: If the K12 Qualifier is qualifying eight spots into the tournament field, the top eight scores and ties are considered to be the original qualifiers).

Players will be informed of the K12 Qualifier Series Option Policy during registration and must declare their intention in the scoring area to either accept a spot in the tournament field should they qualify or "Opt Out" and have a Tournament Exemption added to their Performance Based Entry status. Once a player has signed his/her scorecard, the decision is final. Players who decide to "Opt Out" and not play in the event will be replaced by the player with the next lowest score. Since these players were not original qualifiers, they are unable to use the Option Policy.

Girls' fields at K12 Qualifiers must have at least 12 participants not already in the tournament field in order for the Option Policy to be in effect. The AJGA website will indicate if the Option Policy is in effect for girls.

Original qualifiers who use the Option Policy will have the current season and the following season to use the Tournament Exemption to gain entry into an event. Once the Tournament Exemption has been used, it will not be re-awarded the following season.

Medalists who choose to play in the event will still get an additional Tournament Exemption added to their status. This does not apply to any other qualifiers. Qualifiers who are not AJGA members must complete the AJGA membership application and pay the membership fee prior to the tournament.

Leadership Links

What is Leadership Links?

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
