GOLF JUNIOR ALL-STAR CLASSIC AT KINGWOOD CANCELLED
Tournament shortened from 36 holes to 18
KINGWOOD, Texas
-The first-round of the AJGA Callaway Golf Junior All-Star
Classic at Kingwood, scheduled for Tuesday, July 16, was cancelled
because of unplayable course conditions. The Kingwood area
received an abundance of rain during the past 72 hours causing
the course to become unplayable. The tournament, held at the
Kingwood Country Club, Forest Course, will be shortened from
the original 36 holes to 18.
The 18-hole tournament, conducted by the American Junior Golf
Association, features 99 players representing 18 states, New
Zealand and Japan. Fifty-nine Texas natives are included in
the field. Kingwood is the fourth of seven stops for the Callaway
Golf Junior All-Star Series, designed specifically for boys
and girls ages 13-15.
The final round of the tournament will be a shotgun start
tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
