βI was just hoping to qualify, let alone win,β he said. βI hit it short, but straight. I hope I can play the same way throughout the rest of the tournament as I did today.β
Doyle also medaled for the first time on Sunday, and it was only his third AJGA sponsored event. Although he medaled, Doyle chose to take one Tournament Exemption for an AJGA event rather than play in the Hanmi Bank Junior Open.
βI had never played this course before today, but knew the course was going to be tight and narrow,β Doyle said. βI figured anything under 77 would be a good score today, so I am very happy with my 72.β
