Applying for AJGA Internships

Priority Deadline: November 21, 2008 by 5 p.m. Eastern Time
Final Deadline: January 14, 2009 by 5 p.m. Eastern Time

Application Requirements

  • Cover letter
  • Resume
  • State government-issued three-year (minimum) driving record
  • Three recommendation letters
  • Online application
  • Online bio (completed at end of online application)
  • Three AP-style writing samples (Communications Interns only)

These items may be submitted at one time or separately via mail (American Junior Golf Association, Attention: Lauren Shelly, 1980 Sports Club Drive, Braselton, GA 30517), e-mail (lshelly@ajga.org) or fax (678-425-1653).

Recruiting Weekend

Finalists for the internships must be able to attend Intern Recruiting Weekend in Atlanta February 20-22, 2009. The AJGA will provide lodging, food and reimburse a portion of travel expenses. Here these candidates will be required to successfully pass a drug test and background check.

ACE

The Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program provides financial assistance to junior golfers who wish to play in AJGA events. Its goal is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. This program helps to fulfill the AJGA’s mission of developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

Leadership Links

What is Leadership Links?

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
