Button Hole’s mission is through the teaching of “A Lesson In Golf…A Lesson in Life,” young people from all backgrounds learn life’s lessons of honesty, humility, and perseverance while gaining respect for the environment and their community. Button Hole is truly a “kid’s field of dreams.” They greened a gravel pit and turned it into an oasis of recreation where within the game of golf, differences in age, gender, and ethnicity disappear and provide an extraordinary mentoring opportunity.
I am joining AJGA Leadership Links and declaring my charity as Button Hole because it is a grow the game initiative and it helps spread the game to young incoming golfers in the city who want to learn how to play, but are not given the opportunity to do so. Button Hole is located in downtown Providence where there is not many places for youth to learn the game of golf. It is a par three course that also contains a range and a learning center open daily to anyone who wishes to learn how to play. They offer lessons to kids of all ages which they call “Button Hole Kids”. Button Hole is essential to the kids of the city that wish to learn the game of golf but do not have the opportunity to do so. I wish to support this cause and help Button Hole be able to achieve their goal of spreading the game of golf throughout the younger population of the city and grow the love of the game.
The United States Golf Association has partnered with the American Junior Golf Association and will match the donations I raise for any junior golf association, including Button Hole.
Your dollars will not only support the funding Button Hole, but also will impact other junior golfers as well through the ACE Grant program. Your contributions will help talented junior golfers with a desire to better their life through playing junior golf and earning a college golf scholarship. These juniors lack the financial resources to compete at the national level to gain exposure to these scholarships. They need our help as well. The scholarships these juniors earn through their play change the course of their life and the life of their future family.
My goal is to raise $2,500. Would you consider making a donation and making a difference?
There are two ways to contribute - Click Donate Now
- You can make a one-time donation and your credit card will be charged now.
- Or, you can pledge a specific amount for every birdie or eagle I make. I will keep you up to date during the season and then contact you at the end to let you know how much you owe.
If you would like to send a check, please write the check to the American Junior Golf Association and make sure to include my name in the memo section. Please mail to:
