The Daphne W. Waterproof Cast Fund provides waterproof casts for free to all Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital patients whose families cannot afford to pay. Waterproof casts give children significantly better quality of life while their bones heal. The fund has been able to pay for waterproof casts for 1,200 patients covered by Medicaid, which does not pay for this expense, and patients with limited private insurance. The number of parents and families who want waterproof casts continues to grow, and it is our mission to provide for them in the future. Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital patients lead busy lives in school and in extracurricular activities, and some parents have children with complex health challenges they need to manage. Waterproof casts allow patients to participate in sports vital to their well-being, shower, swim and other related activities without worry.
With your philanthropy, Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital can give patients and their families the best possible experience during recovery and rehabilitation. The waterproof cast liner costs an extra $50 for arm casts and $60 for leg casts. Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital families who have challenging circumstances in their lives are deeply moved by this donation.
“One mother wanted her son to have a waterproof cast, and she started looking and looking through her purse for the money but she did not have the money. She even tried to call her mom for the money. When I told her that we would give it to her for free, she started crying because she was so happy.”

Your dollars will not only support the funding The Daphne W. Waterproof Cast Fund at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, but also will impact other junior golfers as well through the ACE Grant program. Your contributions will help talented junior golfers with a desire to better their life through playing junior golf and earning a college golf scholarship. These juniors lack the financial resources to compete at the national level to gain exposure to these scholarships. They need our help as well. The scholarships these juniors earn through their play change the course of their life and the life of their future family.
My goal is to raise $2,500. Would you consider making a donation and making a difference?
