The First Tee of Hampton Roads is a premier youth development organization here in your community, internationally part of The First Tee founded by the PGA and locally, a program of the YMCA of South Hampton Roads. They are located next to Virginia Beach National Golf Club, in the Princess Anne area of Virginia Beach. The First Tee of Hampton Roads is a year-round program that introduces kids far more than the game of golf—they teach nine-character values, nine healthy habits and life skills that they encourage the participants to practice throughout life.
The First Tee of Hampton Roads is the reason I play golf. When I first joined the First Tee, I had already begun to play golf a lot with my dad, but it was the First Tee that really made me fall in love with the game. I was lucky enough to be part of a core group who went on to win the fall PGA Jr League back in 2014 under the name of the First Tee. When I am not practicing at the golf course, you will find me volunteering at the same summer camps that I grew up in. I partnered with Gerry Jones’s golf-a-thon for two years. The second year we played 106 holes in one day. I would love to be the next person in line behind Gerry for the First Tee. Hopefully, I can take the volunteering to the next level and make a difference in other young golfers’ lives. This is my goal for the upcoming year, and I would love the AJGA leadership links program to partner up with me to do so.
The United States Golf Association has partnered with the American Junior Golf Association and will match the donations I raise for any junior golf association, including the First Tee of Hampton Roads.
Your dollars will not only support the funding The First Tee of Hampton Roads, but also will impact other junior golfers as well through the ACE Grant program. Your contributions will help talented junior golfers with a desire to better their life through playing junior golf and earning a college golf scholarship. These juniors lack the financial resources to compete at the national level to gain exposure to these scholarships. They need our help as well. The scholarships these juniors earn through their play change the course of their life and the life of their future family.
My goal is to raise $1,000. Would you consider making a donation and making a difference?
There are two ways to contribute - Click Donate Now
- You can make a one-time donation and your credit card will be charged now.
- Or you can pledge a specific amount for every birdie or eagle I make. I will keep you up to date during the season and then contact you at the end to let you know how much you owe.
If you would like to send a check, please write the check to the American Junior Golf Association and make sure to include my name in the memo section. Please mail to:
