AJGA alum and former Tiger hosts tournament
Will Claxton, an AJGA alum and former Auburn Tiger, is hosting the first-ever Will Claxton Junior presented by TestDrive.com July 7-10. This is the AJGA's first event at the Auburn University Club. Claxton played AJGA golf from 1997-2000 with a best finish of T2 at the 1999 AJGA Hargray Junior Classic.
Two future Tigers in the field
Michaela Owen of Suwanee, Ga., and Mai Dechathipat of Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., are bound for Auburn to continue their careers collegiately. Both are members of the class of 2015, but Owen has signed a National Letter of Intent, while Dechathipat is still just a verbal commit.

Top Players to Watch

Alexander DeRosa, Atlanta, Ga. (2016)
The highest-ranked boy in the field at No. 98 in the Polo Golf Rankings, Alexander DeRosa is still seeking his first AJGA title. The Atlanta native does have a win at the 2014 Bubba Conlee National Junior.
Charlie Miller, Jackson, Miss. (2017)
Charlie Miller enters the Will Claxton Junior presented by TestDrive.com as the second highest-ranked boy in the field at No. 101 in the Polo Golf Rankings. Miller is coming off a sixth place finish at the 2014 AJGA Junior at Steelwood.
Maria Andreina Merchan, (Venezuela) Weston, Fla. (2015)
A Venezuelan by way of Weston, Fla., Maria Andreina Merchan won the 2013 Golf Pride / David Leadbetter Junior Classic with a 2-under-par 214. She has five top-10 finishes in her AJGA career, spanning 2012-14.
Dree Fausnaugh, Maitland, Fla. (2015)
Dree Fausnaugh enters the Will Claxton Junior presented by TestDrive.com as the second highest-ranked girl in the field at T111 in the Polo Golf Rankings. The 2012 Rolex Junior All-American had her best finish of the year at the TaylorMade-adidas Golf Junior at Innisbrook hosted by Sean O'Hair, tying for fourth.
Mai Dechathipat, (Thailand) Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. (2015)
The highest-ranked girl in the field according to the Polo Golf Rankings is Mai Dechathipat. Dechathipat, who earned 2013 Rolex Junior All-America honors, placed third at the 2014 Wells Fargo Junior Classic presented by Mizuno for her best finish of the year. She is verbally committed to play at Auburn.

Media Accommodations

The Will Claxton Junior presented by TestDrive.com will have AJGA communications representatives on hand to assist media throughout the week. Prior to the tournament the AJGA will provide information about the event and its participants, as well as assist with player interviews.

After each round, media officials on-site will write a recap with the day's results. These will be emailed to all media outlets. Interviews with AJGA Tournament Directors, Tournament Chairmen and juniors may be conducted before or after tournament rounds.

About the AJGA

The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. The AJGA provides valuable exposure for college golf scholarships, and has an annual junior membership (boys and girls ages 12-18) of approximately 6,000 junior golfers from 49 states and more than 50 countries. To ensure scholarship opportunities for all junior golfers who have the skill, the AJGA created the Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program to provide financial assistance to young players in need.
