GENERAL INFORMATION: Sunday, August 22, 2010

AJGA National Qualifier – Marshallia Ranch
Marshallia Ranch Golf Course
Vandenberg AFB, Calif.
Shotgun Start: 1 p.m.

Field Size: 100

Cost: $75

Application is open to all AJGA Members

The field will be filled using 2010 K12 Qualifier Series Entry Criteria. Priority will go first to players not in the tournament field at the Junior All-Star at Marshallia Ranch. Players in this tournament will be ranked according to the number of playing opportunities (tournament & qualifier) they have been accepted to with the AJGA this season. Those with the lowest opportunities will have a higher priority if spots remain in the National Qualifier. Ties at any step will be broken by Random Draw.

HOUSING: The Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites (2100 North Broadway, Santa Maria, CA 93454) will serve as the host hotel and has given the AJGA a special rate of $99 per night per room. Average rates for this time are $149 per night. Following a $3 million dollar renovation, the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites offers modern day luxuries for business and leisure guests alike. Amenities include 37 inch HDTV’s, outdoor pool, complimentary high-speed Internet and wireless, and the convenience of kitchenettes in every room. The hotel is also located within walking distance of many restaurants. Reservations can be made by calling (805) 928-6000. Be sure to identify yourself as an AJGA participant. You must call by August 6 to receive the special AJGA rate.

AIRPORT/GROUND TRANSPORTATION: Players should make reservations into Santa Maria Airport (SMX), which is approximately 30 minutes from the golf course and 20 minutes from the host hotel, or Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA), which is approximately
1 hour 20 minutes from the golf course and host hotel. A shuttle service from Santa Maria Public Airport (SMX) and Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA) can be arranged by calling Central Coast Shuttle Services at (805) 928-1977. Fees for these services vary by the number of people traveling.

National Car Rental, the Official Car Rental of the PGA TOUR and now the American Junior Golf Association, provides AJGA members and their families with discounted fixed rates on all car categories. Enroll free in the Emerald Club to earn free days or make a reservation directly from the AJGA Web site. For more information or to book a reservation, visit http://www.ajga.org/tourninfo/emeraldclub.asp.

PRACTICE ROUND: Practice rounds will be available for participants Saturday, August 21, at Marshallia Ranch Golf Course. Players may arrange additional practice rounds by contacting Marshallia Ranch Golf Course at (805) 734-1333 on an individual basis. Greens fees with a cart included are $64.

REGISTRATION: National Qualifier registration will be Sunday, August 22 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

STARTING TIME: 1 p.m. shotgun (Players will be called to their carts approximately 30 minutes prior to the starting time for announcements). In the unlikely event of a weather delay, the AJGA will play until dark if necessary to complete the Qualifier.

CODE OF CONDUCT: All AJGA participants are expected to abide by the AJGA Code of Conduct. Violations of the Code of Conduct will be dealt with based on the severity of the misconduct.

OTHER INFORMATION: • The new USGA condition of competition requiring a player’s clubs conform to the groove and punch mark specifications as detailed in the 2010-2011 Rules of Golf is NOT in effect for AJGA competitions.
• Golf carts and spectator carts are not allowed without a Government issued permanent handicap placard.
• Caddies are not permitted in AJGA tournament play.
• Proper attire is required at all times and failure to comply may result in disqualification (see Dress Code Section of Code of Conduct).
• Push carts (non-motorized) are approved for use by all players as permitted by the host facility. Players are responsible for providing their own push carts.
• No headphones may be worn in AJGA competition.

NO SHOW POLICY: Because the AJGA continues to receive far more applications than it has spots available for in its events, the AJGA is adopting the following policy:

If you find that you cannot compete in the AJGA National Qualifier, you must withdraw from the event by contacting the AJGA at (770) 868-4200 or the tournament headquarters at (678) 571-7994 prior to Players Registration. This allows the AJGA to replace you with an alternate. If you cannot compete and do not withdraw properly, you are considered a “no show,” and the following action will be taken:

1. If you have already been accepted for another event, you will be notified of your disqualification from that event.
2. If you have not been accepted in another event at this time, your next application will not be considered.
3. If this offense is repeated, you will not be allowed to play in any more events for the remainder of the year.

APPLICATION WINDOW: The application window will be open from Friday, July 23, at 3 p.m. ET – Monday, July 26, at Noon ET. The Qualifier field and alternate list will be posted Tuesday, July 27, at 5 pm ET.

AJGA members can login to the Player Center to apply. Once in the Player Center, click “Apply to Qualifiers.”

Please Note: The AJGA National Qualifier is a stand alone event with the sole purpose of providing an opportunity to earn additional Performance Based Entry Status. It is NOT a qualifier to move on to play in the Junior All-Star at Marshallia Ranch.
