Do Goes Low at Randy Wise Junior Open
Sritragul and Fraser card only under-par rounds to take lead at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club

GRAND BLANC, Mich. — Henry Do of Ypsilanti, Mich., tied a tournament low 5-under-par 67 for a two-round total of 4-under-par 140 to take the lead in the Boys Division by two strokes. Tess Fraser of Marysville, Ohio and Paveenuch Sritragul of Bangkok, Thailand lead by three in the Girls Division after shooting second-round 1-under-par 71s.

Conducted by the American Junior Golf Association, the Randy Wise Junior Open is being held at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club in Grand Blanc, Mich. The field features 75 boys and 24 girls, ages 12-18, from 11 states, Indonesia, Thailand and Canada. The par-72 course is playing at 7,106 yards for the Boys Division and 6,038 yards for the Girls Division.

Playing in his second AJGA event, Do carded six birdies with just one bogey in his second-round including a run of three birdies in four holes. His round was one of ten rounds under par in the second round after just one under-par round on day one. After shooting a 1-over-par 73 during the first-round, Do said it was improvement on the greens that allowed him to go low.

“I putted much better today, it really saved me out there,” Do said. “Tomorrow, I'll have to hit my driver better to win.”

In second place is Patrick Cansfield of Port Huron, Mich., with a two-round total of 2-under-par 142. The first-round leader, Haoyuan Lu of Bradenton, Fla., is in third place after carding a second-round even-par 72 giving him a two day total of 1-under-par 143. Rounding out the top five in the Boys Division are Beau Titsworth of Avon, Ohio and Carson Castellani of East Lansing, Mich., who have two-round totals of even-par 144.

Sritragul had one birdie and two bogeys on the front nine before turning it around on the back nine with four birdies including three in a row from Nos. 12 through 14.

“I was really hitting my approach shots well,” said Sritragul. “I had good confidence on the greens and my putts were going in.”

Fraser had an up-and-down day with six birdies and five bogeys after a 4-over-par 76 in the first-round.

“I tried to forget about the bogeys out there and stay positive,” said Fraser. “I was sticking my iron shots today and my putts were rolling really well.”

In third place in the Girls Division is the first-round leader, Ashley Armstrong of Flossmoor, Ill., with a two-day total of 6-over-par 150.

The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. The AJGA provides valuable exposure for college golf scholarships, and has an annual junior membership (boys and girls ages 12-18) of approximately 5,000 junior golfers from 49 states and 30 countries. Titleist, the AJGA's National Sponsor, has been the catalyst and driving force behind the Association's success since 1989. Rolex Watch USA, which is in its third decade of AJGA support, became the inaugural AJGA Premier Partner in 2004. In 2007, after 12 years of support, Polo Ralph Lauren became the AJGA's second Premier Partner.

AJGA alumni have risen to the top of amateur, collegiate and professional golf. Former AJGA juniors have compiled more than 400 victories on the PGA and LPGA Tours. AJGA alumni include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Stewart Cink, Cristie Kerr, Paula Creamer and Morgan Pressel.
