Movie Gallery Named Presenting Sponsor of AJGA Event
Video Retailer Supports the Ashworth Preseason Junior at Highland Oaks

Movie Gallery, the third-largest video specialty retailer in the United States, has signed a two-year deal as the presenting sponsor for an American Junior Golf Association tournament to be played in Dothan, Ala. The Ashworth Preseason Junior at Highland Oaks presented by Movie Gallery, slated for March 7-9, marks the start of the AJGA’s 2003 season.

“The AJGA’s reputation as having the top junior golf events in the country, and their interest in bringing a tournament to Dothan go hand-in-hand with our long-standing support of youth-related programs,” said Steve Roy, Movie Gallery’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

The 36-hole, stroke-play tournament will be played at Highland Oaks Golf Course in Dothan. The city is also home to Movie Gallery’s national headquarters.

Movie Gallery owns and operates 1,790 video specialty stores located in 43 states and six Canadian provinces. They are the leading home video specialty retailer primarily focused on rural and secondary markets.

The AJGA Ashworth Preseason/Postseason Junior Series, a boys-only series, has expanded to 10 tournaments in 2003 from the eight featured last year. The series is designed to provide playing opportunities to juniors who have not yet played in an AJGA tournament. Players who finish in the top 15, including ties, receive one, two or three automatic entries into future AJGA tournaments, depending on their place. The AJGA will conduct 70 national tournaments during the 2003 season.
