Transamerica Capital Backs AJGA Tournament in Denver

Financial Services Company Set for Two-Year Deal

The American Junior Golf Association announced Friday that Transamerica Capital has signed on as title sponsor of the Transamerica Junior at Denver, to be held August 5-8. The sponsorship will run for two years, with this year’s event hosted by Hiwan Golf Club in Evergreen, Colo.

“Transamerica wanted to help bring a highly competitive junior golf tournament back into the state, and to do it in partnership with the premier junior golf association in the country — the AJGA,” said Mike Mathies, vice president of marketing for Transamerica. “Several members of Transamerica Capital's senior management team have participated in junior and amateur golf competitions in the Colorado area over the years.”

The 54-hole, stroke play event will bring the nation’s top juniors to suburban Denver.

“We’re excited that Transamerica Capital has come on board to sponsor an event in the Denver area,” said Jason Etzen, AJGA executive vice president of development. “We’re pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to our many members in Colorado.”
